TeraRecon adds to iNtuition

Advanced visualization firm TeraRecon is highlighting new features for its iNtuition advanced visualization software at this week's American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting in Atlanta.

The San Mateo, CA-based firm has added low-dose CT angiography (CTA) processing, research collaboration, and image distribution capabilities to iNtuition.

New tools to preprocess and filter CTA studies allow for adapting the diagnostic appearance of images in accordance with departmental standards or according to physician preferences, TeraRecon said. In research enhancements, iNtuition's Automatic Processing Server (APS) now includes an application programming interface (API) for applying image preprocessing engines developed by researchers.

TeraRecon will also present image distribution developments, including the ability to run iNtuition on a laptop disconnected from any network, access to the full suite of clinical tools via a Web browser with secure sockets layer (SSL) security, and API-free integration to electronic medical record (EMR) systems via Web services.
