Barco launches new Voxar 3D version

Image display and advanced visualization software developer Barco of Kortrijk, Belgium, has unveiled the latest iteration of its Voxar 3D application, version 6.1.

The advanced visualization and analysis software incorporates a suite of optional clinical applications, including one for CT cardiac analysis, Voxar 3D CardiaMetrix. The toolset provides the capability for cardiac 4D analysis, coronary vessel analysis, left ventricular analysis, and calcium scoring, according to Barco.

The application incorporates many automated tasks to increase the speed of reading and analyzing, Barco said. This includes automatic heart and aortic route extraction, automatic contour detection, and the capability to automatically segment the entire coronary tree, allowing physicians to read and report a full cardiac workup in less than 10 minutes, the company said.

As part of the Voxar 3D 6.1 release, Barco also debuted Voxar 3D Enterprise, an application that provides access to advanced visualization within the radiology reading room and throughout the healthcare enterprise. The software accelerates imaging study loading by performing all image processing and then streams the results to workstations throughout the network.
