Three-dimensional-software developer Vital Images has shipped its first ViTALConnect software package.

The application allows physicians to use PCs or notebook computers to access 2D, 3D, and 4D advanced-visualization capabilities from a Web-enabled thin-client server, according to the Plymouth, MN-based firm. Users can process, analyze, review, and distribute multidimensional medical images over the Internet without proprietary hardware.
