Toshiba America Medical Systems

Look for Toshiba of Tustin, CA, to discuss advances to its MRI line, including its Vantage 1.5-tesla and Ultra 0.35-tesla scanners.

On Vantage, Toshiba will highlight the scanner's 65.5-cm patient aperture and 1.4-m magnet length. Vantage includes Toshiba's Pianissimo package of noise-reduction technologies for improved patient comfort. Among the advanced scanning technologies is the company's SPEEDER parallel imaging technique, which employs multiple dedicated RF elements in combination for faster scanning times and higher signal-to-noise ratios.

For Ultra, Toshiba will emphasize the gradient package, which features 25 mtesla/m amplitude and a 100 mtesla/m/sec slew rate. The system includes the SSEPI scanning protocol for assessment of stroke, tumors, and vascular disorders, and the SSFP protocol for high-contrast spine imaging.
