Barco will spotlight a color version of its Coronis display, as well as the next generation of its Nio family.

Coronis Color 3MP Diagnostic Luminance is a multimodality color display featuring Barco's Diagnostic Luminance backlight technology, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based vendor. It's suitable for a range of both grayscale and color-enhanced modalities and applications, including high-resolution PACS imaging, color ultrasound, color Doppler, pathology imaging, CT, MRI, computer-aided detection (CAD), chest radiology, and PET/CT fusion, Barco said.

2006 11 01 15 08 43 706Coronis Color 3MP Diagnostic Luminance includes an ATI Technologies-powered FireGL 3D display controller that supports dual-head, 3-megapixel configurations. The display has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance.

Barco will also show the next generation of its Nio family of display systems. The company said it has improved the performance, quality assurance management, and diagnostic quality of the Nio line.

The displays now include PCIExpress support and a 10-bit architecture, which ensures accurate image representations with 1,024 simultaneous shades of gray, according to the vendor. Barco has also incorporated MediCal QAWeb, an online service offering that offers remote DICOM calibration, automated quality assurance, display asset management, and problem solving and reporting.

The next-generation Nio displays are available in 2-, 3-, and 5-megapixel configurations.
