Image Systems withdraws bid to buy Nortech unit

Monitor manufacturer Image Systems of Minnetonka, MN, has withdrawn its bid to buy the imaging technologies division of Nortech Systems of Wayzata, MN, Image Systems reported today. The company said it pulled out of the deal because the firms were unable to reach an agreement regarding Nortech's warranty liability on previously shipped products.

Image Systems announced the acquisition bid in November 1999. The deal was viewed at the time as part of a growing consolidation trend in the medical display industry.
