Deadline nears for NRC limited user feedback

By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

January 25, 2019 -- The January 29 deadline is fast approaching to submit comments on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) consideration of establishing training and experience criteria for becoming a limited user of radiopharmaceuticals.

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) is providing its thoughts and encouraging its members to weigh in on the proposal, which would reduce the number of training hours required to administer radiopharmaceuticals.

The NRC is taking comments on the following:

  • Special training and experience requirements for limited users
  • Procedures for recognizing medical specialty boards
  • Patient access to nuclear medicine services and whether there is a shortage in the number of authorized users

Comments can be submitted via regulations.gov.
