ISMRM annual meeting goes virtual

May 15, 2020 -- The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (SMRT) have announced that their annual meeting will be turned into a virtual conference this year due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

ISMRM 2020 was originally scheduled for April in Australia, but the group in March announced that it would be moving the conference to Paris in August due to concerns about COVID-19. The lingering effects of the COVID-19 outbreak prompted the shift to a virtual conference and exhibition, to be held August 8-14.

The ISMRM and SMRT presidents said to expect the same standard in education and presentations that would be seen at an in-person meeting. The societies will have additional information in their online FAQs in the coming days. They will be in contact with speakers, moderators, and poster presenters within the next week to confirm their participation.
