September 9, 2020 -- Enterprise imaging firm Hyland Healthcare has signed an agreement to acquire Alfresco, a developer of content services and software for businesses.

Alfresco has developed a cloud-based digital business software platform that delivers content services to help organizations connect, manage, and protect critical information. On completion of the deal, Alfresco is expected to operate under Hyland's Hyland Software business.

In addition to granting Hyland access to Alfresco's products and services, the deal also gives Hyland access to an open-source community as a new source of product innovation, according to the company.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020.
