October 16, 2019 -- Brain imaging software developer CorTechs Labs' NeuroQuant volumetric imaging software has received marketing clearance in Brazil.

NeuroQuant provides automated quantitative 3D T1 MRI postprocessing image analysis, the company said. It uses machine learning to provide automatic MR image segmentation and quantification to evaluate Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, and multiple sclerosis, according to the firm. LesionQuant, a module of NeuroQuant for the evaluation of multiple sclerosis, is included in the Brazilian approval.

The Brazilian clearance is NeuroQuant's fifth international approval since it was cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2006, CorTechs said.
