Study Makes Compelling Case for 3D-only Mammograms

A study published in the June issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology illustrates the robustness of Siemens Healthineers 50-degree wide-angle breast tomosynthesis.

The first study to measure the accuracy of DBT separate from FFDM affirms that DBT is superior to FFDM in sensitivity, specificity, and detection of invasive cancers. It supports the hypothesis that two-view stand-alone exams can be used as the sole interpretation reading display.

This is great news for facilities with Siemens Healthineers wide-angle breast tomosynthesis—the only mammogram approved for 3D-only* imaging for all women regardless of breast density.

New Guidelines Recommend Screening Mammogram at Age 40
New breast cancer screening guidelines from ASBrS recommend that women at average risk should start annual mammograms at age 40. It also recommends that women 25 and older get a risk assessment, and those at higher-than-average risk get annual exams at an earlier age. Does your technology deliver the right breast care? MAMMOMAT Revelation’s wide-angle scan delivers up to 3.5 times higher depth resolution than a narrow-angled system.
