Cedara teams with Kodak on B-CAD

Cedara Software of Mississauga, Ontario, has entered into a distribution agreement with Eastman Kodak of Rochester, NY, to package Cedara B-CAD breast ultrasound computer-aided detection (CAD) package with Kodak's CareStream Mammography Workstation. Kodak will distribute Cedara B-CAD to its worldwide customers as part of its CareStream system.

B-CAD was developed by Medipattern and Cedara, and received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration in May of this year. It performs automatic image analysis, segmentation, and classification of images, and creates standardized reports as dictated by the American College of Radiology's Ultrasound Lexicon Classification Form.

Kodak's CareStream Mammography Workstation supports both screening and diagnostic imaging, and can be used as a standalone unit or as part of a larger mammography system. It can view and store full-field digital mammography (FFDM) images and data from multiple vendors, as well as digitized film, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, computed radiography, nuclear medicine, and PET images.
