PACS and teleradiology software developer CoActiv Medical of Ridgefield, CT, will highlight new technologies and products of its PACS offering, Exam-PACS, at the 2005 RSNA conference.
The company will be featuring its Modality Worklist service option, a DICOM Modality Worklist service at no extra charge for RIS/HIS/Exam-PACS integrations in which the HIS or RIS cannot provide the service. The firm is scheduled to demonstrate its brokerless HL7 capabilities, which allow bidirectional HL7 communications to any HL7-capable application at a reduced cost to clients. CoActiv said that this capability was developed to combat high HL7 integration fees being charged in the market.
CoActiv will also be showcasing its PET/CT fusion display, distribution, and archiving capabilities. The feature integrates PET/CT and PACS management and viewing to facilitate reading of fused PET/CT exams. A mouse-driven interface allows a complete exam analysis to be performed, and key images are automatically sent back into the original exam as a new and unique series for distribution to consulting physicians, according to the vendor.
Exam distribution can be handled via the firm's Exam-Sender Referring Doctor system or by its Exam-Filer CD distribution system. The new series of fused images are also archived as part of the complete exam on the company's Exam-Vault archive system. The PET/CT fusion capability is provided through a technology partnership with medical imaging software developer MedImage of Ann Arbor, MI, CoActiv said.
The firm will also be spotlighting its Exam-PACS-Ortho product, designed specifically for orthopedics. The software has a fully integrated version of the OrthoView orthopedic templating application, which also includes a pediatric assessment toolset, the vendor said.
On the service front, CoActiv will be unveiling its enhanced dual-redundant monitoring service. The offering is a proactive monitoring service that provides a double layer of uptime protection, according to the vendor. The company said that all key systems and services run a health-check application every several minutes to analyze all system performance and safety factors, and report the data to an automated Web-based monitoring station. The built-in health-check capability is also remotely monitored by a CoActiv preemptive system application that monitors the monitor, according to the firm.
The company will also be touting its 100% uptime service level agreement (SLA) at this year's RSNA show. The SLA is available for CoActiv's Exam-Vault archive service, and guarantees an always-up and always-available online exam archive service. The company said it features quad-redundant archive service, with exams stored in four separate locations.
