Healthcare IT developer Cerner of Kansas City, MO, will showcase its ProVision PACS in the exhibit halls of McCormick Place at this year's RSNA show.
ProVision PACS provides a unified RIS/PACS that includes workflow and role-based tools for the radiology department and throughout the enterprise. Its ProVision PACS Diagnostic Workstation provides advanced visualization tools and a unified radiologist desktop that reduces user interface clicks and contextually displays reporting tools and relevant clinical information required for efficient diagnostic interpretation, according to the vendor.
The software also features a MultiMedia Foundation (MMF) that provides an enterprise framework for integrating all types of multimedia objects into a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR), Cerner said. The MMF supports the inclusion of diagnostic images, ECG waveforms, fetal monitor strips, photographs, video images, and other multimedia components into a patient EHR. The product also has a ProVision Web image viewer which, combined with Cerner's PowerChart, provides enterprise-wide access to the comprehensive information available in the EHR.
ProVision PACS is based on the Cerner Millennium architecture, which the company said supports more than 60 information systems. The architecture supports PACS High Availability Cluster, JPEG 2000 compression, and IHE Integration Profiles.
ProVision PACS is available in models that can scale from standalone imaging centers to large multifacility integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and can be configured to support statewide or nationwide information systems. It is designed for diagnostic imaging for radiology, mammography, cardiology, and orthopedic specialists, as well as for enterprise viewing and teleradiology. It is currently available worldwide.
