Agfa HealthCare

Agfa will highlight the expansion of its product line into additional clinical departments, as well as the launch of new enterprisewide systems.

Taking center stage will be the latest version of its Impax PACS software, Impax 6.0. Built on Microsoft's .NET framework, Impax 6.0 enables users to download full Impax functionality at remote computers, Agfa said. Impax 6.0 also facilitates connectivity across radiology, women's care, orthopedics, and cardiology departments with enterprise information and dictation capabilities, the company said.

Impax 6.0 is a Web-deployed thin-client package that allows IT departments to post software updates or revisions to a Web site for users to download and install.

Agfa

Agfa is also debuting Impax ES for Radiology, an enterprise digital imaging system that comes with customizable features such as display wizards and hanging protocols to accelerate the reporting process, according to the Greenville, SC-based vendor.

Also included are multiplanar reformatting (MPR) and maximum intensity projection (MIP) capabilities to aid in the interpretation of the large-volume images, Agfa said. Users can also utilize a single sign-on to access an integrated RIS/PACS/speech recognition system, as well as take advantage of the Impax ES for Radiology's integration with Voxar's 3D software.

Web1000ES, shown as a work-in-progress at last year's meeting, offers a low-cost means of providing remote access to images, Agfa said.

In other introductions, Agfa will debut Impax MA3000, a mammography diagnostic workstation. MA3000 can display diagnostic-quality images from multiple modalities for soft-copy diagnosis, and includes image manipulation and navigation features, according to the vendor. The workstation can also support the integration of computer-aided detection (CAD) technology.
