Digital imaging storage services provider InSite One has launched InFlite, a free, server-based testing system that allows hospitals and imaging centers to assess their imaging infrastructure before moving to a PACS or remote archiving environment, according to the Wallingford, CT-based vendor.
The process begins when the company installs InFlite in radiology departments and imaging centers for at least one or two months to test the installed imaging modalities and infrastructure. InFlite evaluates areas such as DICOM low- and high-level communications; IP/DICOM configuration; security configuration; network connectivity, speed, and bandwidth; and usage reporting, according to InSite One.
The company hopes InFlite will drive sales of its InDex archive outsourcing service, which is now commercially available.
In other InSite news, the vendor has signed on five dealers to distribute InDex: E.G. Baldwin of Cleveland; MXE of Culver City, CA; Premier Imaging of Houston; Tri-State Medical of Gretna, LA; and Ultra Business Systems of Knoxville, TN.
