Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Are radiologists warming up to artificial intelligence (AI)? The answer seems to be yes: Radiologists are shedding their initial fear and skepticism and are now looking to get more involved with the technology.
That's according to a panel discussion on AI and radiology held yesterday at the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC 2018) in San Jose, CA. Panel member Dr. Keith Dreyer, PhD, of Massachusetts General Hospital said he's seen radiologist attitudes go from 90% opposed to AI to 90% in favor.
But that doesn't mean AI algorithms will soon be flooding radiology reading rooms, as there is still much work to be done before the technology can become a routine clinical tool. Learn more by clicking here.

A solution to the isotope shortage
The nuclear medicine and molecular imaging community has been plagued for years -- for decades even -- by periodic interruptions in the supply of key radioisotopes. Could a solution be on the horizon?
One firm believes it might. NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes has developed a system for producing important radioisotopes such as molybdenum-99, the precursor to technetium-99m, which is one of the most commonly used radioisotopes for cardiac imaging.
The company's technology doesn't rely on an expensive nuclear reactor, and it doesn't use highly enriched uranium, the distribution of which faces severe regulatory controls. Learn more about the technology by clicking here, or visit our Molecular Imaging Community at molecular.auntminnie.com.
Best states for doctors
What are the best states for doctors to practice in? Personal finance website WalletHub offered up a list earlier this week, and you might be surprised to find out which states landed on top -- and which ones were at the bottom.
