This one-day program is a combined effort of the faculties of urology, radiology, and radiation therapy. It provides an overview of established and recently developed approaches to ultrasound of the prostate with a special emphasis on endorectal scanning. The course incorporates a variety of clinical perspectives to complement the basic information on physics, anatomy, and pathology of the prostate gland. Our curriculum also covers issues of therapy and recent advances in technology that are changing the landscape of prostate diagnosis and treatment. The course content is frequently updated as new standards and procedures develop in this fast-paced field. In recent courses, there has been a special lecture devoted to advanced techniques for detection of prostate cancer including contrast-enhanced imaging and elastography.
