With the significant improvements in the technology of CT scanning in recent years and the proliferation of these units, there has been a growing mandate from insurance companies and governmental agencies to require accreditation to ensure quality exams with limited radiation dose. This has posed a challenge to medical physicists to become knowledgeable about this technology and the accreditation procedures for these units. This seminar will provide an opportunity for an in-depth review of this technology in an interactive forum with time for discussion of important aspects of CT scanner operation, testing, and QC. Participants are invited to bring their questions and concerns about supporting these units for an exchange with other attendees and the faculty.
This seminar will provide 15 hours of continuing education credit to fulfill this requirement by the ACR for qualified medical physicists supporting accredited facilities.
