The conference will focus on the use of noninvasive imaging techniques, such as PET and SPECT to improve the understanding of the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, addiction, and normal aging; improve the quantification of neuroreceptor function in vivo; accelerate the process of central nervous system (CNS) drug development; and monitor the efficacy of novel CNS therapies. The PET Pharmacokinetics Course will also be held in Pittsburgh immediately before the NRM08 symposium. Taught by an international panel of expert faculty, the PK course content will cover basic pharmacokinetic concepts, methods, and applications.
