Coronavirus toll surges after sanction of CT diagnosis
The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China hit roughly 15,000 within the past 24 hours alone, a major increase, according to news reports. The surge follows a decision by Chinese officials to expand the diagnostic criteria for COVID-19 to include cases diagnosed with CT.

Images of a 39-year-old who underwent screening mammography. Right craniocaudal (left) and mediolateral oblique (middle) views from preoperative mammography show suspicious grouped fine pleomorphic calcifications (arrows). After biopsy showed ductal carcinoma of situ (DCIS), patient underwent breast-conserving surgery, yielding final diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (intermediate grade, hormone receptor positive). (Right) Screenshot of an output of a commercial AI tool applied to preoperative mammography. AI detected right breast lesion with score of 95% on both views (concentric colored circles). Could AI scoring help with managing DCIS?
Axial contrast-enhanced CT scan in a 28-year-old premenopausal woman shows an incidentally detected solid-appearing left ovarian lesion (solid arrow) anterior to the uterus (U), associated with trace ascites in the right adnexa and cul de sac (dashed arrows). At pathologic analysis, this was shown to be ovarian dysgerminoma. Two readers misdiagnosed this lesion, one as a leiomyoma and one as an ovarian fibroma.

How does F-18 flurpiridaz PET perform in routine clinical practice?

Ischemia in the circumflex territory. F-18 flurpiridaz PET showed a perfusion defect in the lateral wall during pharmacological stress, which improved in rest. Myocardial blood flow (MBF) quantification showed decreased MBFstress (1.4 mL/min/g) and myocardial flow reserve (MFR) (2.2) in the circumflex (Cx) territory, with adequate flow in the left anterior descending and right coronary artery territories, MBFstress 2.6 and 2.2 mL/min/g, and MFR 3.4 and 3.1, respectively. Coronary angiography showed a 70%-99% stenosis in the Cx artery, for which percutaneous coronary intervention was performed with good result and good clinical outcome.
