Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Imaging procedures are a stressful experience for many patients. The typical imaging suite can seem cold and sterile, and the mysterious workings of modern imaging equipment can be intimidating to the uninitiated.
In our newest AuntMinnieTV segment, we profile a company called Sky Factory that has developed a line of backlit ceiling tiles and virtual windows that simulate outdoor scenes like blue skies or alpine meadows. Such scenes create the illusion of nature within the imaging suite, and evoke a soothing psychological response in humans that can counteract an otherwise stressful environment, according to company executives.
