Week in Review: SIIM-CAIMI 2026 | Ultrasound MinnieCast | Minnies 2026 finalists

Dear AuntMinnie member,

The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging (CAIMI) has always offered a great opportunity to catch up on cutting-edge developments for AI in radiology. And this year was no exception.

Our Amerigo Allegretto was on hand in Philadelphia, filing reports on topics such as imaging AI’s evolution, overturned prior authorization denials for advanced imaging, and triaging patients for intracranial hemorrhage. Click here for our full coverage of SIIM-CAIMI26.

On Halloween, what could be a better topic for this week's Ultrasound MinnieCast than phantoms? Timothy Hall, PhD, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, discussed his work in phantom development in episode 19.

We’re also one step closer to determining the winners in this year’s edition of the Minnies, our annual awards program recognizing excellence in radiology. Click here to see who has advanced to the finals.

Please see below for our top stories of the week.
