iCAD, Confirma form mammo/MR alliance

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer iCAD of Nashua, NH, and MRI CAD developer Confirma of Kirkland, WA, have formed a strategic alliance, the firms reported.

The developers plan to offer early detection of breast cancer solutions that provide integration of CAD for both mammography and MRI systems. The firms have worked together to provide results of Confirma's CADStream technology on iCAD's Second Look 500M workstation, due out this July.

The suggested list price for an iCAD 500M system is $219,900, with a per-procedure charge of $150 for each breast MR CAD analysis completed on the CADstream component, said iCAD.
