Ultrasound developer Misonix of Farmingdale, NY, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Focus Surgery of Indianapolis.
Focus Surgery has granted Misonix European sales rights to its Sonablate 500 system for high-frequency focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment of prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, and other prostatic tumors.
The agreement covers the geographic areas of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Russia, Misonix said. It has a two-year term, with a provision for automatic renewals for successive one-year terms as long as minimum quantities are purchased.
