Eastman Kodak Health Imaging has released a trans-bay option for its DirectView DR 9000 digital radiography system. The option enables trauma centers to accelerate treatment and improve care while minimizing the movement of critically injured patients.
The option requires installation of overhead rails up to 30 feet long to allow the DR system to move to as many as three different patient locations in rapid succession. The rails enable the DR suite to be customized to meet the needs of individual hospital trauma centers, according to the Rochester, NY-based company.
In addition, cost benefits can be achieved by using a single DR system to serve multiple trauma patients and locations, Kodak said.
