Three-dimensional-software developer Viatronix has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its V3D-Vascular module. The software allows radiologists to examine vessels in 2-D and 3-D, perform "fly-throughs," view hard and soft plaque, and make precise measurements, according to the Stony Brook, NY-based firm.
Designed to aid radiologists and technologists in creating clear visualizations of complex vascular anatomy, V3D-Vascular streamlines vascular CT, MR, and 3-D reconstructed x-ray angiography examinations with a variety of tools, allowing for selecting and visualization of the entire vascular tree in seconds, Viatronix said. Advanced algorithms and anatomical knowledge perform automatic postprocessing of data prior to physician review, according to the vendor.
