Polyp surveillance risk may be acceptably low

BOSTON - Many gastroenterologists are uncomfortable with radiologists' practice of generally leaving medium-sized colonic polyps in the patient unless they grow larger than 10 mm. The studies, though few, suggest that the risks of surveillance may be acceptably low, and virtual colonoscopy researchers are conducting new studies to find out more.

DRA and MR patient throughput -- reimbursement cuts vs. unconventional wisdom
The reimbursement reductions from the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005 have yet to be finalized, but imaging providers have already begun to brace themselves for the impending cuts. The initial reaction for many has been to look at cutting costs, from staffing to new MRI equipment.
