Nuclear cardiology modalities are seeing a resurgence of late, which is not to say the most widespread heart-imaging modalities were in decline. Still, recent technical improvements on multiple fronts, from detector technology to hybrid modalities like SPECT/CT and PET/CT, seem to have sharpened the modalities' future prospects as they have sharpened the images themselves.

Cochrane update: Breast cancer screening curtails mortality, but at what cost?

In the latest review by the Nordic Cochrane Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, of seven screening trials and half a million women worldwide, the researchers report that breast cancer screening appears to lower breast cancer mortality, but ultimately state that "there is no clear evidence that screening does more good than harm."
