US-guided percutaneous placement of PBI balloon catheter is safe, efficient
CHICAGO - Data from a small series of patients suggest that percutaneous ultrasound-guided placement of a partial-breast irradiation (PBI) balloon is a safe and efficient option to whole-breast radiation following lumpectomy for treatment of early-stage breast cancer, according to researchers who presented their findings Wednesday at the 2006 RSNA meeting.

CHICAGO - Automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) can detect new breast lesions as well as confirm findings previously spotted on mammography, according to the phase II results of a screening trial at the Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic in Rochester, NY.
