Ultrasound developer U-Systems and nonprofit breast cancer organization Are You Dense have formed a partnership to increase awareness of breast density and improve access to adjunctive breast cancer screening tools.
U-Systems and Are You Dense will collaborate to support efforts to initiate state and national breast density legislation. Support from U-Systems will allow Are You Dense to expand its outreach efforts with the formation of a new affiliate, Are You Dense Advocacy, according to Are You Dense founder Nancy Cappello, PhD.
The affiliate's mission, along with the Density Education National Survivors' Effort (DENSE), is to advocate for and support state and federal legislative efforts for the communication of breast density information to women, Cappello said in a statement.
