Dosimetry firm PTW has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its Beamscan MR motorized 3D water phantom and installed its first unit in North America.
Suitable for clinical use in a 1.5-tesla MR environment, the motorized 3D water phantom comes ready to use on a single carriage, according to the vendor. It's available for Elekta's Unity and ViewRay MRIdian MR-linacs.
The first Beamscan MR phantom in North America has been installed at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.
