Hyperfine touts portable brain MRI study

Hyperfine highlighted positive results in a study evaluating its Swoop portable MRI system against high-field MRI in outpatient neurology clinics. 

Published August 21 in the Journal of Neuroimaging, the prospective, multicenter study found that the company's Swoop system demonstrated 92% concordance with high-field MRI in identifying structural abnormalities on blinded neuroradiology review, and 98% concordance when clinical information was included. It also showed that patients preferred portable MRI over high-field MRI by a four-to-one margin, rating it higher on comfort, anxiety, claustrophobia, noise, and overall experience.

Hyperfine also highlighted that more than 3,000 brain MRI scans have been completed across outpatient practices in the first year of its office-market launch.
