Imricor Medical Systems has launched its NorthStar Mapping System in the U.S.. The system is a cardiac mapping and guidance platform designed for use with real-time MRI.
NorthStar allows physicians to visualize the heart's structure and tissue characteristics during a minimally invasive interventional procedure using MR imaging, eliminating the need for ionizing radiation, the company said. It is designed to enable real-time image viewing and manipulation during a procedure in contrast to conventional MRI, which produces static images for later review.
