AIRS Medical has secured U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for its SwiftMR MRI image reconstruction platform to operate in conjunction with AI deep-learning reconstruction pipelines from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
SwiftMR can work with OEM deep-learning tools in two ways, the company said: by delivering additional scan time reduction on top of an already-installed OEM pipeline, or by extending AI-powered image enhancement to pulse sequences not covered by an OEM tool. In one example cited by the company, SwiftMR reduced routine brain scan time from 15 to 9 minutes on a GE HealthCare 3-tesla scanner already using AIR Recon DL.
SwiftMR is currently deployed at more than 1,700 imaging centers and hospitals across more than 40 countries, according to AIRS Medical.
