Springbok's platform converts full-body and regional MRI exams into interactive 3D maps of the musculoskeletal system, quantifying up to 140 individual muscles and delivering metrics including muscle size, asymmetry, fat infiltration, and bone and adipose composition, according to the two companies. The technology is currently used by more than 80 professional sports teams and human performance programs, the firms said.

The collaboration aims to streamline MRI workflows for musculoskeletal assessment and expand the platform's capabilities within GE HealthCare's MRI environment, with potential applications including injury risk assessment, rehabilitation tracking, and monitoring of age-related muscle changes, according to an announcement.
