Eckert & Ziegler breaks ground on U.S. facility

Isotope technology firm Eckert & Ziegler has started building its previously announced production site to manufacture radiopharmaceuticals in Wilmington, MA.

The clean room suite will be a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility compliant with current good manufacturing practices that's dedicated to late-stage investigational and commercial-stage radiopharmaceuticals. For instance, yttrium-90-based radiopharmaceuticals for the treatment of liver cancer will be manufactured at the facility.

Eckert & Ziegler said in the future it will expand its European production capacity for lutetium-177-labeled drugs to its U.S. site.
