Medicare cancer imaging grows at twice rate of overall expenses

Medicare spending on medical imaging for cancer patients grew at twice the rate of overall cancer spending in the U.S. program from 1999 to 2006, with PET expenses growing at the fastest rate, according to a new study in the April 28 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
