Contrast injector technology firm Medrad of Warrendale, PA, has installed its first Intego PET infusion system, the company said.
The Hillman Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) will install the system. Medrad has partnered on the deal with IBA Molecular of Sterling, VA, which will supply UPMC with FDG.
Intego automates the administration of FDG for PET/CT imaging procedures by extracting a patient dose from a multidose vial and administering the dose via infusion directly to the patient, according to Medrad.
