Sentara Health is partnering with BAMF Health to launch a joint venture that will establish the state of Virginia's first vertically integrated theranostics program, according to the two firms.
The program will combine radiopharmaceutical production, molecular imaging, molecular therapy, and clinical trials, according to an announcement from the companies. Initial focus will be on cancer treatment, with clinical trials also investigating theranostics applications for neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, cardiovascular conditions, and other diseases, the companies said.
While Sentara already offers molecular imaging through PET/CT scanning, BAMF Health specializes in designing, building, and operating vertically integrated theranostics centers, the announcement noted.
