SNMMI names president-elect of its technologist section

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has named Shannon Youngblood, EdD, as its new president-elect, technologist section.

In the role, Youngblood will focus on increasing the visibility and recognition of nuclear medicine professionals through advocacy at local and national levels; promoting a more inclusive and diverse workforce; and advancing education and professional development to keep pace with emerging practices such as theranostics, the society said.

Youngblood earned a master's degree in radiologic sciences from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, and her doctor of education in health professions from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO. She teaches at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and has been involved with the SNMMI since 2012.
