Nonprofit healthcare system Banner Health has entered a strategic partnership with cardiovascular AI software developer HeartFlow.
Under the agreement, patients being assessed for cardiovascular disease at Banner’s hospitals will undergo CT scans that use HeartFlow’s AI technology. Specifically, the AI analyzes CT scan data to create patient-specific 3D models that detail anatomy, plaque composition, and lesion-specific physiology. This allows interventional cardiologists to plan procedures with all relevant information in one view before patients enter the cardiac catheterization lab, Banner said.
In addition, during procedures, physicians will utilize HeartFlow’s PCI Navigator, which displays detailed real-time images of all calcium deposits and plaque, with imaging aligned to optimize potential stent placement.
The agreement was announced at Banner’s inaugural Scottsdale Interventional Forum, being held February 9 to 12 in Scottsdale, AZ, the organization noted.
