Intravascular imaging technology developer Avinger's Pantheris small vessel (SV) image-guided atherectomy system for the treatment of peripheral artery disease has been successfully used in patients at four U.S. sites.
The cases are part of the company's limited launch of the device; eventually, Avinger will have Pantheris SV placed at 13 centers, it said. The device features a 140-cm catheter length that allows physicians to target smaller vessels in more distal regions. It received the CE Mark in October 2018.
