Computed radiography (CR) manufacturer 3DISC will introduce a new line of compact CR systems at next week's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The entry-level FireCR Medical CR scanners can be configured for most medical and chiropractic applications (except for mammography) and are designed for full DICOM connectivity, according to the Daejeon, Korea-based firm.
FireCR Medical - 80 CR is designed for hospitals, backup units, and private clinics, while FireCR Medical - 60 CR is suitable for private clinics and high-volume practices. Midvolume practices are the target for FireCR Medical - 40 CR, while FireCR Medical - 20 CR is a good fit for lower-volume practices, according to 3DISC.
The FireCR scanners can be upgraded to higher speeds with a single smart card update, 3DISC said. 3DISC will also be making the FireCR systems available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

![Representative example of a 16-year-old male patient with underlying X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy. (A, B) Paired anteroposterior (AP) chest radiograph and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) report shows lumbar spine (L1 through L4) areal bone mineral density (BMD). The DXA report was reformatted for anonymization and improved readability. The patient had low BMD (Z score ≤ −2.0). (C) Model (chest radiography [CXR]–BMD) output shows the predicted raw BMD and Z score in comparison with the DXA reference standard, together with interpretability analyses using Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) and gradient-weighted class activation maps. The patient was classified as having low BMD, consistent with the reference standard.
