(Booth 4739) Shimadzu of Torrance, CA, will feature a series of cardiovascular, radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F), and digital radiography (DR) systems in its RSNA 2007 booth.

2007 10 22 11 37 41 706Bransist Safire VC17 is a ceiling-suspended interventional cardiovascular system based on a 17 x 17-inch flat-panel digital detector. The system includes Shimadzu's Sure image processing engine, and has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Sonialvision Safire is an R/F system that uses a 14 x 17-inch digital flat-panel detector, mounted in a universal R/F table. The system supports advanced clinical applications such as tomosynthesis, as well as orthopedic, gastrointestinal, intravenous pyelogram, and lung screening studies. The unit has FDA clearance.

Sonialvision Versa is a universal R/F table designed for bariatric patients, with enhanced patient load capacity. The unit can be used for both bariatric and general fluoroscopic and radiographic exams, according to Shimadzu.

Finally, Radspeed Safire DAR 7500 Digital Processor is an update to the company's DAR 7000 processor. The new unit includes multifrequency processing for enhancement of image density and fine-detail structures, allowing viewing of areas that previously could not be distinguished, according to the company. The system also includes image-enhancement features, and has received FDA clearance.
