Boston-based cardiovascular imaging AI firm Elucid has secured $55 million to fund commercial expansion of its cardiovascular imaging platform, ongoing AI research, and clinical studies.

The platform includes Plaque-IQ, a software cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for non-invasive quantification of plaque type and composition in coronary and carotid arteries, and BioIntegrated FFR-CT, an AI device designed to assess coronary physiology that is currently under FDA review, the company said.

The round included a large, undisclosed medtech company, as well as IAG Capital Partners and Elevage Medical Technologies, a platform created by Patient Square Capital. The financing brings Elucid's total funding to approximately $185 million.
