Siemens Healthineers unveiled its new mobile unit to support stroke diagnosis at the American Heart Association’s 2025 International Stroke Conference (ISC), being held February 5 to 7 in Los Angeles.
The unit is equipped with a Somatom On.site head CT scanner, which features a new digital platform called Stroke Connect. The system delivers high image quality comparable to stationary scanners to aid in the detection of ischemia or bleeding, according to the firm, and features a telescopic gantry that allows easy positioning of the patient’s head in the scanner while he or she is on the stretcher.

Stroke Connect allows hospital physicians to assess clinical patient data remotely and in advance of presentation at the hospital, which speeds therapy decisions, Siemens said. Mobile stroke units can reduce time-to-treatment by about 30 minutes compared with conventional pathways, it noted.
The Somatom On.site scanner won the Minnies award for Best New Radiology Device in 2020.
