Imaging software developer AccuImage Diagnostics has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for PrimeLung, a CT lung nodule visualization program.
The program features a set of integrated modules, including one that provides 2-D and 3-D navigation and visualization tools. This module also includes automated analysis of nodules to obtain dimension, volume, and signal characteristics of regions identified by the operator, according to the South San Francisco, CA-based vendor.
Nodules are logged onto a database, and then a second module seeks a prior study to match nodules where appropriate, AccuImage said. Other PrimeLung components include an editable report generator and a work-in-progress module to identify suspicious areas of interest for further examination.
