Lipoma:

Clinical:

Pleural lipomas are uncommon tumors which are usually asymptomatic and are detected as on incidental finding on CXR.

X-ray:

On plain film, a pleural lipoma may appear as a solitary pulmonary nodule. When seen in tangent, however, the lesion will be shown to be extraparenchymal and have obtuse margins with the chest wall. On CT they are usually of homogeneous fat density (-50 to -150 HU). Thin internal septations are occasionally identified.
