BOSTON - Researchers have found that FDG-PET and arterial spin labeling (ASL) MR perfusion match the gold standard of pathology or long-term clinical follow-up in differentiating tumor necrosis from recurrence in patients with brain tumors, according to a presentation at this week's American Roentgen Ray Society meeting.

MRI helps uncover evolution of postconcussion symptoms

Ohio researchers are using MRI to better understand how concussion symptoms evolve in young patients and what cases may have lingering aftereffects. So far, they have found that one in four children with a traumatic brain injury or concussion displayed significant postconcussive symptoms more than a year after the injury.
